The sight of 93 flags representing all Nebraska counties circling the stadium and waving in the breeze makes it hard to contain the excitement for the start of the 2010 Cornhusker State Games. The Olympic-style Parade of Athletes, led by a collection of past Cornhusker State Games Athletes of the Year, allows each sport’s competitors to walk proudly around the stadium. Other entertainment, emceed by the celebrities of KOLN/KGIN Channel 10/11, includes mascot obstacle challenge, skydivers, free style motocross, and the Oath of Athletes.

Of course, the night would not be complete until the identity of the mystery torch lighter is revealed and the 2010 Cornhusker State Games begin with the lighting of the cauldron. As the program concludes and the Fireworks Finale begins, it will be easy to see why the Cornhusker State Games is truly something special for all Nebraskans.
