You are invited to run a mile with the torch in the Nebraska National Guard and Air Guard, Cornhusker State Games Torch Run. Over 1,000 Nebraskans will take the opportunity to share in this statewide tradition.
The Cornhusker State Games is one of the largest amateur sports festivals in the nation. This June, thousands of Nebraskans of all ages and abilities will compete in more than 60 sports, showcasing their talents and encouraging others to adopt healthy, active lifestyles.
The spirit of the Games will be spread statewide by the Torch Run. When the Opening Ceremonies kick off the Games on June 25 at Seacrest Field in Lincoln, the torch will have traveled over 1,100 miles from the Wyoming border west of Scottsbluff to the streets of Lincoln.

This will be the 25th year of the Torch Run, thanks to the sponsorship of the Nebraska National Guard and Air Guard, and the coordination efforts of hundreds of volunteers. Patterned after the Olympic Torch Run, the relay focuses the attention of the public on the Cornhusker State Games as it crosses the state.
The Torch Run exemplifies many things about Nebraskans: our work ethic, our individual will to succeed and our desire for self-improvement and physical fitness. You may choose to run for vigorous exercise or a casual jog. But best of all, you can choose to run a mile just for the memories.
Nebraska citizens of all ages and athletic abilities may register to carry the torch. The run is scheduled to begin May 3. Each
runner will receive a Cornhusker State Games T-shirt to be worn during the run.
To register, Click Here and download a printable form. All registrations must be in by April 29. Runners will be contacted before May 1 to confirm each runner’s

starting point. In some areas, runners may run more than one mile if they choose.
The 2010 Cornhusker State Games, set for June 25–27, marks a significant milestone for a grand Nebraska tradition.
